Understanding Climate Adaptation and Climate Change
Why do we need to adapt?
The climate is changing faster than ever before, and these changes can threaten our safety, health, and economic well-being.
While we can reduce the severity of future changes by cutting our carbon emissions, we also need to prepare for a wide range of challenges posed by climate change that are already occurring due to past emissions. This could include making changes to our buildings so that they are less at risk of flooding or have better resilience to storms and extreme weather events.
Adaptation helps safeguard lives and infrastructure, ensuring that everyone, especially vulnerable groups, can better cope with changes in climate patterns.
