Marine Energy Test Area Public Exhibition
Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum, through its ‘Marine Energy Wales’ programme, is developing a Marine Energy Test Area (META) project in and around the Milford Haven Waterway.
Sites for testing wave and tidal devices, along with other marine energy equipment, are proposed near Pembroke Port, Warrior Way, Dale and north of Freshwater West.
At this early stage, community members are invited to attend a public exhibition to discuss our proposal and shape our project. If you have an interest in the Milford Haven Waterway and surrounding areas, or in marine renewable energy, we encourage you to attend one of our drop-in events to find out more about the project. These are being held 3-7pm:
- 4th December, Castlemartin Community Hall, SA71 5HN
- 5th December, Angle Village Hall, SA71 5AN
- 6th December, Dale Coronation Hall, SA62 3RB
- 11th December, Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre, SA72 6WS
In order to gauge numbers and interest, please register your interest to attend using Eventbrite.
If you are unable to attend an event but would like to find out more, please contact us.
The proposed sites
The proposed sites shown in the map below have been chosen as they are accessible, yet still representative of real sea environments. The aim is to make it easier to test marine energy equipment to make sure it is working as expected.
The sites are for testing only and so will not be connected to the National Grid, and devices will be in the water for between 1 – 12 months maximum.
