Proposed Sustainable Management Measures For The Welsh Whelk Fishery

 

Welsh Government are seeking your views on a range of sustainable management measures for the whelk fishery. They are consulting on sustainable management measures which will be incorporated into a management plan for the Welsh whelk fishery. The proposals include:

  • permits
  • limits on landings
  • increased minimum landing sizes
  • a closed season
  • catch returns.
